KING KERNEL sNACKS
King Kernel transforms children’s diets through healthy, flavorful snacks made with minimal preservatives. The packaging contains complementary colors making key colors pop, capturing children’s attention while maintaining a clean, appealing design. While designed for kids, the snacks are also enjoyable for adults, making them perfect for lunchboxes, dipping, or everyday snacking.
The brand’s slogan, “Crunch Like a King!”, highlights the satisfying crunch at the heart of every snack. The mascot, King Kernel, is a playful king who created these snacks to share with the world.
How was the brand created?
Through original brainstorming, I wanted a brand that spoke to children without relying on artificial dyes or heavy stabilizers, creating something healthy and fulfilling. I designed the King Kernel logo by hand in Adobe Fresco using fun, curving letters in brown, light yellow, green, and orange, colors associated with health. The “K” connects King and Kernel for a playful and memorable visual.
The mascot was also created in Fresco with a yellow kernel body, a crown, and a cape to emphasize his kingly identity. Packaging was designed in Affinity Designer with small assets created in Canva. This brand was fun to create. Scroll down to see more staging and designs.
